Removing a tree is a big decision, and sometimes trimming is the better answer. When a tree is dead, structurally failing, crowding a foundation or has been badly damaged in a storm, though, removal is the safest choice for your home and family.
Residential lots in North Dallas suburbs are tight. Most removals happen between a house, a fence and a neighbor's yard, so trees are usually taken down in controlled sections rather than dropped in one piece.
What's Included
- Assessment of the tree and the safest way to bring it down
- Sectional removal (piece by piece) when space is tight
- Protection of roofs, fences, beds and lawn during the job
- Cutting, hauling and disposal of the trunk and branches
- Raking and blowing the work area clean
- Optional stump grinding so the area can go back to lawn or beds
How It Works
Inspect & plan
We check the tree's condition, lean and surroundings — power lines, roofs, fences, structures — and plan where every piece will go.
Free estimate
You get a clear price for the removal, with stump grinding quoted separately if you want it.
Controlled takedown
Limbs come off first, then the trunk in manageable sections, so nothing lands where it shouldn't.
Cleanup
Wood and brush are hauled off and the yard is cleaned up. Stump grinding can be done the same visit or scheduled after.
Common reasons for tree removal in DFW
Several trees widely planted in North Texas yards are short-lived or prone to breaking. Bradford (Callery) pears tend to split apart at narrow branch unions as they mature, and Arizona ash often declines after 20 to 30 years. Many of these trees in older neighborhoods are now reaching the end of their useful life.
Hard freezes and ice storms — like the February 2021 winter storm — left many trees with dead tops and cracked limbs that only became obvious the following summer. Drought years add stress, and trees planted too close to a foundation can cause trouble as they grow.
If a tree is leaning suddenly, has a large split, or has mushrooms or hollow areas at the base, have it looked at before the next storm.

Tree Removal FAQ
Do I need a permit to remove a tree on my property?
It depends on the city and the tree. Most removals on an established residential lot don't need one, but some cities (Flower Mound, for example) have tree-preservation rules, and HOAs often have their own requirements. Check with your city and HOA before removing a large tree.
Is stump grinding included?
Stump grinding is offered as an add-on so you only pay for it if you want it. We can grind the stump right after the removal.
Can you remove a tree that's close to my house or fence?
Yes. Trees near structures are taken down in small, controlled sections so pieces don't fall onto the roof, fence or landscaping.
What about trees touching power lines?
Lines running from the pole to the house or along the street belong to the electric utility. Call the utility first — they handle clearance around energized lines.
