Native post oaks and cedar elms are common, many of them older than the homes around them. These trees reward light, correct pruning and protection of their root zones; oak pruning should stay outside the February–June oak-wilt window.

Rolling terrain means drainage matters. When we install sod on slopes, grading so water moves away from the house is part of the job. In shaded areas, St. Augustine or Zoysia usually performs better than Bermuda.
